Grass Mat Skirts

Fish the Grass Mat Skirt with a heavy tungsten weight, hook and favorite plastic and punch through those grass mats were the big bass hide.  For heavy grass mat fishing a heavy action rod with 65 pound braid work the best. String the braid through the tungsten weight (1 - 1 1/2 ounce) then through the Grass Mat Skirt then tie on your favorite hook and attach your plastic as you would on a Texas Rig.  Peg your weight with a touthpick, bobber stopper or what ever works for you.  Pitch the bait above the Grass mat you want to penetrate.  The heavy tungsten will go through the Mat where the big ones hide.  If you don't get a bite on the fall, jig it a few times and repeat.
